Concrete is used in many parts of road construction project from the final surface of a pavement, the construction of gutters, pavements and islets to the necessary infrastructure.

The construction of concrete pavements is sometimes the only solution when dealing with difficult conditions (e.g. heavy slopes, difficult road access, large vehicle loads).

The final surface of the pavement is achieved either by concrete coarsening or by hardening (industrial flooring).

Other concrete materials used for final road or pedestrian surfaces are paving stones. They are placed on a layer of sand, encased in concrete and there is a wide variety of shapes for different applications.
